Plein Air Turned into Concept

"not exactly how bob wants to spend his retirement"

Painted this location with Eytan at the bottom of US Bank at Downtown LA. We thought the elevators could be turned into an awesome location for a story.
Check his painting out on his blog!

Nice, saw the other version a couple of days ago. Very fun! What are you guys using to do these (what kind of digital pad)? I'd like to go mobile but haven't figured out the best way yet.

hey ben,
we use our laptops. however, to minimize the glare, we make boxes out of illustration board (we make sure it's fold-able so we can fit it in our backpacks. we also bring 2 collapsible stools (1 to sit on and 1 to put the computer on) If you're in the la area, feel free to send me an e-mail and i can send you the info for where we're going to be.

we also use energizer "energy to go" external batteries to extend the length of time we sit out there.

Sounds like a blast but I'm all the way over in Florida :( A wee bit more than a day=trip for me, haha. What kind of laptops are you using and would you recommend them if you were to buy one again?

as for the laptops,
i think that any laptop that can run photoshop smoothly would be good to use. I use a dell xps. I haven't had any problems with my computer outside so far, so i think i'm pretty happy with it.

hope this helps!
