Tank Model

For our Viscom and Study Model classes, we had to design a treaded vehicle. For Viscom, we had to draw the tank's front and rear view. For Study Models, we had to physically build the tank. Some modifications were made from the original drawing. I had a LOT of fun with this project.

I've always enjoyed model making as a kid.

So in the near future, Chinatown's buildings will connect with bridges. Also, there will be no light posts. However, there WILL be lanterns streaming across buildings.

Went to Chinatown about a week ago. I really liked how some of the Eastern styled buildings were mixed in with the more Western architecture. Plus, those streaming lanterns are so awesome!

Try not to laugh too hard. Went to zuma beach yesterday. This is my second oil painting (my first one is too embarassing)

Still don't really know what I'm doing but...I think I'm making a little progress. Just gotta do more I suppose. As far as the composition goes.....I feel like I spent more time figuring out how to use these oils so I hope the composition works.

What I've been up to the past couple of days. Each took around 1.5 hours or so (battery life of my laptop)

Top to bottom:

Went to the Griffith Park Observatory and painted with Shaddy and his buddy. Lighting was not really ideal for the angle but whatevs.

Tried to get the "essence" of that tree. God that one was frustrating.

Saw some interesting tree trunks + branches in front of a building next to the park...not too sure if I caught their sexiness...but I tried.

Well if anyone reads this and wants to go paint with me, just hit me upppp.

Clover Park is pretty awesome. Tons of different trees.
Top composition was around 3pm.
Bottom composition was around 6 pm

Man those colors are super hard to match...I think the real thing was a litttleeee less saturated. I had a lot of trouble rendering some of these trees too. I think I suggested them "enough" though.

Gonna try to head over to the park a couple times a week.
